Volume 18 c171-173

Rookies v18 c171[L5RG]
Rookies v18 c172[L5RG]
Rookies v18 c173[L5RG]

I don't suppose that in the comments we can have something else other than the normal 'Thankyou, you're awesome!' 'Hurry up and do it quicker!' and 'Are you guys dead?' Those posts are fun and all, but can we mix things up a little? Thoughts on the actual manga maybe?

Or not; your choice.

Thoughts...Best sports manga of all time along with Slam Dunk. But I think Rookies is more "mature" and "evolved" in general terms. The characters fit perfectly amongst each other. Anyways, love it. Akaboshi is my hero of all time ("just makin sure your nuts haven´t shrunk up into your pelvis"... MAGIC!).

Seems that way, I count 61 seeds and 12 leeches at the moment.

Well I say THANK YOU.
Inching closer and closer to the end.
:)

And a group doing a real Jump classic and not doing those 4-5 weekly jump series 8,000 other groups do.When those groups could take a example from your group and do a series with actual volume releases that nobody is doing instead of 500 different versions of 1 chapter of 1 series.
So yes Thank You TLFRG.

Masanori Morita deserves for his manga to be translated.
Just hope someday for Rokudenashi Blues (more scans) and Beshari Kurashi.

No! Thanks and anticipation are all you'll get from me. <3

Torrent was about a minut for me. Excellent.

Manga: Ahh ah... not his finger again. I had an odd sense of deja vu for a few pages. But I have to say, best sports manga along with REAL. Slam Dunk was good, but not as thoroughly "dokun dokun" as REAL, which also has more visual stimuli. [A side effect of Vagabond, perhaps?] I read ahead for Rookies up to v22, but I was too scared to go on and now I'm tortured, waiting for scanlations. X3

Haha. Okay, first of all, thank you very much for the scanlation.

Well, ROOKIES is along with Slam Dunk my favourite sports manga (REAL on a good 3rd). It's just awesome. As the first poster said, "the characters fit perfectly amongst each other". I love it.

Oh and btw, if you're tired of people asking you if you're dead, you could always leave a comment. Just a thought.

So.....Aniya wants to be hit, hmm?

Enough thoughts for now, its exhausting, but thanks 4 the release anyway.

Akaboshi is fucking neat.

I mean, seriously.

Way to steal the spotlight.

Also, Dumbo´s forkball is the real deal. The hell...I really thought Aniya would hit it, and then the ball went even lower!

Wakana´s in deep shit...(again).
Hope he´s not benched for the rest of the game. He´s one of the best characters(and players).

...curious to see what the hell are they gonna do to stop Bessho. He looks like the kind of batter that gets even better when fired up...

Love the fact that although Aniya asks Kawato to hit him, his instinctive reaction to being punched in the face is still to retaliate. "It just happened." had me laughing.

oh yeah - thanks for the releases!

A lot of comments about people thinking Rookies is one of the best sports mangas.

His previous manga HUGE success in Weekly Shonen Jump 1988-1997
Rokudenashi Blues is at first about High School Thugs just like Rookies.
Street Fighting but eventually Boxing came into the fold.Just like baseball does.

So a lot you would probably love it if it ever was scanned more.

Thanks for these chapters!

Now for some thoughts about this manga.
Before i started reading it i wasn't so much into baseball, because there isn't baseball in my country, but i played a computer game and it got me addicted. When i got into manga, not so long ago, Rookies was one of the first i had the pleasure of reading. It's so good that i spent an entire afternoon reading it and craved for more.
It has drama, it has comedy, and most importantly: it teaches you something important. As a future teacher in the making i really felt it. And it's not only the story that is good, all the characters are well developed.
Rookies grows on a person and i have to say thank you for continuing to scanlate this. I'm very grateful.

thx!

Mmm... Rokudenashi Blues. When and if TL5RG finishes ROOKIES will you guys do Rokudenashi? I&F translated nearly 6 vols of it and it's such an awesome manga, too bad that no one scanlates it anymore. :(

Anywho, thanks for this awesome manga, I truly appreciate your work.

don't get your hopes up for rokublues

Will you at least do something in the sports/slice of life genre?

I mean, it´d been a waste for such an awesome group to do MORE of those fighting manga...as if there aren´t enough groups doing them already...

thank you for yet another release! really love the work u guys do! rookies rank on top of slam dunk in my opinion. i love slam dunk but rookies is indeed more 'mature' grweat@

THANK YOU (hahahaha)
anyway, a thank you is better than nothing I hope?

gosh I love this manga though, somehow got sooo addicted to it, and now I'm just smiling every time I see anything related to baseball, thinking about it. almost wanna start watching real baseball, though I've never been a fan. The rookies boys though, just love them~ Sparkling futures everywhere. XD

This manga is fantastic. The idea is brilliant, he combined the high school teacher comes in and fixes a group of thugs idea (GTO, Gokusen) with baseball (Touch, Major). I'm blown away at how good the manga is. I loved the drama because it was so true to the manga, there were scenes I would watch and forget they were from the manga, only to fall in love all over again when I re-read that part of the manga and realized it was in the manga all along.

Spoilers:
can't see them benching Wakana, they have zero depth at catcher. The offense is getting into gear, they might even start hitting the fork soon. It can't go any lower...right? If it's that low they should just let it go for a ball next time.

Thanks so much for this gem.

I wonder how far the team will fare. Dreams are nice and all, but to keep it real, the time must come, for this manga to keep it's level, when they lose and they face defeat ... with everything that comes with. If you get my drift ...

Lucy said...

Thank you for the scanlation! I'm wondering if there's more coming? :D

Uh...my thoughts on the manga, eh.
So far, the game is pretty negative. I'm not sure where the author is leading us, but it seems like as if they're gonna lose.
I have a strong feeling that the blondie is gonna play. Aiya =___=

I knew a guy like koichi in high school, wanted to beat the little snot. Not in the manga though, the manga is good.
